Third medical facility in Town Center
Construction work will begin next month on the newest medical office
building in downtown Yuba City.
Groundbreaking is expected in October for the $3 million Fountain Plaza
project, which will house as many as 10 doctors' offices.
The two-story, 20,000 square-foot Fountain Plaza building will add to a
growing medical sector in Yuba City's Town Center Project.
"Yuba City is growing rapidly, and the project we are developing is very
well located," said Brad Hays, a partner in the project.
Hays said the partnership is looking at a lot of smaller communities around
the state, including Yuba City.
Fountain Plaza's 460 Plumas Street address is next door to a medical
facility under construction by Sutter North Medical Foundation, an $18
million, 60,000 square-foot ambulatory surgery center on Plumas Street. The
Sutter North facility will employ 90 people.
The developer of Fountain Plaza is Main Street Ventures LLC, a partnership
of Capitol Avenue Development and Investments, of West Sacramento and
Granite Land Co. of Watsonville.
Hays said the partnership is coordination with Sutter North to have both
facilities open at the same time.
He said construction is scheduled to be completed in early spring. Sutter
North's projected opening date is the first quarter of 2005.
A third new medical office in Yuba City opened its doors last month.
Thompson Physical Therapy Associates opened an 8,600 square-foot facility at
B Street and Wilbur Avenue on August 16.
